Hebert Newsletter June 2017 (PDF Format)

So we can learn, experience and never forget our personal history

Due to circumstances beyond our control, there will not be an Hebert Reunion this year – 2017. We look forward to continue our Hebert Association Reunions in future years. Continue to send to us your lineages. I (John) will try to continue this newsletter. Extenuating factors caused delays so there was no May newsletter.

This June newsletter covers the arrival of the third Ship of 1785 (Le Beaumont) to Louisiana. As many of us have just returned from our Acadian Heritage Tour in France we can stop to imagine what our ancestors must have been thinking as they left France to settle in Louisiana.

Pictured are members of our tour group as they gather to show their Acadian pride with the flags .Many of the specific locations where the Acadian refugees lived and embarked from various ports to come to Louisiana in 1785 on the seven ships that we have been covering in these series of newsletters were visited.
